There are more than 60 Capability Brown events taking place this month – find one near you today!
This weekend is the National Gardens Scheme festival weekend, with more than 400 gardens across England and Wales taking part. Among the Capability Brown sites taking part are Southill Park in Bedfordshire, and Madingley Hall in Cambridgeshire – for more information, see the NGS website.
There’s a host of Capability Brown events taking place next week at Harewood House, near Leeds, including a tour of the grounds led by Brown himself.
Elsewhere in the country, there are talks from authors Sarah Rutherford and Tim Scott Bolton, and a debate in Oxfordshire about whether Brown was a visionary or vandal.
Families can go along to a Capability Brown-themed carnival in Twickenham; climb on-board the Big Brum Open Top Bus for a special Georgian tour; or enjoy Milton Abbey in Dorset’s summer fete.
Teddy bears are welcome at Compton Verney for a special picnic, while the Warwickshire site will also offer a host of other activities, including Georgian games; tours; and a whole Park Life! weekend.
