Patrick Eyres - The world according to Capability Brown

On the 7th October, in the historic surroundings of Burton Constable Hall in East Yorkshire, Dr Eyres takes a walk through Yorkshire landscapes designed by the remarkable gardener, entrepreneur and salesman, including the celebrated gardens and parklands of Burton Constable.

The Jellicoe 2016 lecture in Leeds looks at the increasingly innovative approaches to engaging communities with landscape and green infrastructure. Places are free. 

A Capable Businessman - An Exhibition of Capability Brown's Account Book 
28 October

The first ever public display of the Account Book of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown is being held at the RHS Lindley Library in London. Newly conserved, the Account Book reveals the astonishing amounts of money paid to Lancelot Brown to transform the great landed estates of England.

Embroiderers' Guild exhibition at Croome
30 October

Located in the Temple Greenhouse, the Guild have been inspired by Brown's design and the planting at Croome to create beautifully stitched pieces.
